Some essential oils can be dangerous, therefore, only the safest and most gentle oils are used at Sunflower Studios. We only use organic base and essential oils that are free from pesticide residue and have been distilled from plants grown specifically for the aromatherapy trade.
Allergies Please notify your aromatherapist if you have any allergies to foods or medicines as essential oils are derived from natural botanical sources.
Drug Interactions
Aromatherapy is generally safe to take along side conventional medicine, however if you are undertaking chemotherapy or anticoagulant medicines such as warfarin, certain essential oils should be avoided. Strong essential oils such as peppermint and rosemary should be avoided when taking homeopathic medicines. Please advise your aromatherapist if you are taking any medication.
Pregnancy
Although essential oils can be of great benefit during pregnancy, there are many that are unsuitable, therefore please seek the advice of a professional aromatherapist. |

| Pregnancy and Aromatherapy |
| It is important to seek the advise of a qualified aromatherapist when wishing to use essential oils during pregnancy, as there are several oils that are unsuitable. For most women aromatherapy can be used safely and effectively throughout the entire pregnancy. However, if you are at any risk of miscarriage or serious complications with your pregnancy, you should be especially careful, and your aromatherapist may ask you to check with your midwife or doctor before treatment. |
